Three and half years ago it was official, the adoption went through, he became our son, and his sister became our daughter…. We arrived home as a family in the spring and I became a mom to a boy and girl that did not speak a word of English …how we communicated, I have no idea; it’s a blur. Yet somehow, all our points, concerns, and feelings were understood.

My favorite time of day is dusk. In the fall and the winter months, after daylight savings time occurred, dusk starts earlier and sadly, it is all happening while I’m at work. Yet sometimes I get a glimpse of dusk’s performance, its soft lighting in one area and the brightness in another area. I see shadows appearing in shapes of trees, and buildings.
